The Beyer range is now carrying the exclusive watch collection by Jaquet Droz. In all of these watches ticks a mechanical automatic calibre with a double-barrel movement, featuring a 68-hour power reserve. Each timepiece is embossed with a clover leaf, the secret mark of the founder. The transparent case back reveals the ornate “Côtes de Genève” ribbing. This embellishment of the interior is equal in every way to the highly decorative outer design. In order to present the distinctive clock face in a fitting manner, Jaquet Droz has revived the time-honoured art of “grand feu” enamelling.

Jaquet Droz opened his first watch manufactory in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1738, followed by further establishments in London and Geneva. Pierre Jaquet Droz was an ingenious creator of watches, clocks and automatons. His three androids in particular - the Writer, the Draughtsman and the Lady Musician - took the whole world by storm. His clients included members of many royal and imperial courts in Europe, Russia and China.

This timepiece is a splendid specimen of horological craftsmanship from Jaquet Droz. It is the first and only single pushbutton chronograph with a decentral hour and minute hand. The column-wheel, self-winding movement can be admired through the transparent sapphire crystal case back.

Jaquet Droz in La Chaux-de-Fonds pflegt einen Mythos: das berühmte Emaillieren von Zifferblättern. Das Prozedere ist äusserst delikat und erfordert langjähriges Fachwissen. Hinzu kommt das subtile Zusammenspiel von feinstem Granulat (so dünn wie ein menschliches Haar) und der Kraft des Feuers. Die Manufaktur zollt der Qualität des Emails höchste Priorität. Oft müssen fünf und mehr Zifferblätter hergestellt werden, damit am Ende ein einziges davon verwendet werden kann. Die «Grand Feu»-Emailuhren gehören zu den grössten Kunst- werken in der Zifferblattherstellung und zeichnen Jaquet Droz als eine der bedeutendsten Manufakturen aus.
